The author of Mercury (2011), The Cow (2006), and Coeur de Lion (2007), Ariana Reines has just published A Sand Book (Tin House, 2019). Her play Telephone was produced at the Cherry Lane Theater and won several Obie awards. Reines was the 2009 Roberta C. Holloway Lecturer in Poetry at the University of California Berkeley; she has taught master classes at Pomona College, the University of California Davis, and the University of Pittsburgh. She lives in New York, NY.
Mónica de la Torre works with and between languages. Her latest poetry book is The Happy End/All Welcome. It was published by Ugly Duckling Presse, which also put out her translation of Defense of the Idol by Chilean modernist Omar Cáceres in 2018. Born and raised in Mexico City, she is a contributing editor to BOMB Magazine. Recent writing appears in Artforum, A Public Space, and The Literary Review. Her new book of poems, Repetition Nineteen, is forthcoming from Nightboat in 2020.
