Bios :
Née en Allemagne de l’Ouest, Sabine Macher danse, écrit, traduit, voyage avec un ukulélé et photographie des choses immobiles. Elle alterne des propositions personnelles sous forme de livres, pièces sonores, performances, pièces scéniques avec l’inscription dans l’espace d’autres artistes. Cet ensemble de désirs et d’activités produit des formes tantôt collectives, tantôt solitaires, en tension entre l’intime et le social, le théâtre et l’espace urbain, articulées par la rencontre et le hasard. Elle vit à Paris et écrit en français.

Born in West Germany, Sabine Macher dances, writes, translates, travels with a ukulele, and photographs immobile things. She alternates between personal projects in the form of books, sound pieces, performances, and stage plays, and collaborations with other artists . This combination of desires and activities produces forms that are sometimes collective, sometimes solitary, caught between the intimate and the social, theater and urban space, articulated by encounters and chance. She lives in Paris and writes in French. Her most recent book is Guerre et paix sans je, ed. les petits matins, 2019, and her latest translation published is Kurt Schwitters, Homme par-dessus bord, followed by an afterword: Comment je me suis traduit Kurt Schwitters, ed. Trente-trois morceaux, 2022 ; her latest stage project is La vieille danseuse, une hétérotopie permanente.
Palestinian-American writer, editor and educator Naomi Shihab Nye grew up in St. Louis, Jerusalem, and San Antonio, Texas, where she graduated from Trinity University and continues to live. On faculty at Texas State University, she has been Young People’s Poet Laureate for the U.S. (Poetry Foundation), poetry editor for the New York Times magazine, and The Texas Observer, and a visiting writer in hundreds of schools and communities all over the world. Her books include Grace Notes (Poems About Families), Everything Comes Next, The Tiny Journalist, Voices in the Air, Sitti’s Secrets, Habibi, This Same Sky, & The Tree is Older than You Are: Poems & Paintings from Mexico. Her volume 19 Varieties of Gazelle: Poems of the Middle East, was a finalist for the National Book Award. The Turtle of Oman and The Turtle of Michigan have both been part of the Little Read program, North Carolina. She has received the Wallace Stevens Award from the Academy of American Poets, the Texas Writer Award 2024, and Lifetime Achievement Awards from The Texas Institute of Letters, the Arab American National Museum, and the National Book Critics Circle.
Écrivaine, éditrice et enseignante palestino-américaine, Naomi Shihab Nye a grandi à Saint-Louis, Jérusalem et San Antonio, au Texas, où elle a fait ses études à Trinity University et où elle vit toujours.
